Twinkies. Of the Hostess products, I was always more partial to those Snowball things with coconut, particularly in pink. Now the Hostess Company is filing for bankruptcy. That means no more Wonder Bread. There is still a Wonder Bread factory on the edge of town (Seattle) but it has long since been made into something else. "The Turf" just went out of business (downtown Seattle) - that is the last place I ate Wonder Bread. They had loaves and loaves above the counter, so they wouldn't run out.

As for cupcakes (which are now very trendy), In my city, the competitors are Cupcake Royale vs Trophy Cupcake and it is not unusual to pay four bucks each for flavors like "Champagne."
If you wish to carry them, it is legal to fly with them, as long as you don't bring them in a jar.

Cupcakes, bagels, croissants - all have been more fashionable than the lowly Twinkie. Twinkies were more like "fair food." I wonder if anyone ever did anything with the Twinkie for the fair? I guess I didn't imagine it.
