Gingrich Proposed Death Penalty for Pot Smoking Even Though He Indulged

“See, when I smoked pot it was illegal, but not immoral,” Gingrich reportedly told Wall Street Journal reporter Hilary Stout in 1996. “Now, it is illegal AND immoral. The law didn’t change, only the morality… That’s why you get to go to jail and I don’t.”

Classic Gingrich. How are there people who think he would be a fine leader?? How does that happen??

So that's what the game of "Telephone" looks like when played online. Sorry, but no. Gingrich proposed the death penalty for drug smugglers (who undoubtedly have issued their own death penalties to a great number of people), not mere smokers. Even the Huff-n-Puff (no pun intended) Post admits this:
