Robots to take care of prisons in South Korea | Ubergizmo
Robots are already handling some cinema ticket sales in South Korea.
It cost $850,000 to start this up and it will begin as a pilot at one prison, in March of next year. If that goes well, the program will be expanded.
The robots will have sensors that will detect changes in prisoner behavior (mostly at night) and report back to the officer in charge.

Robotic guards coming to South Korean prisons
If this is successful, others will take note. Expect, in the near future, perhaps robotic campus security, store detectives etc.
