PTSD is epidemic at local military bases and all around the country. Donald Rumsfeld was recently confronted by the wife of a soldier who had eight deployments and then committed suicide. He handled it casually and disinterestedly.
Candidates for President do not make PTSD and treatment of vets a major campaign issue, nor do they usually even mention such matters, though those in power gladly support senseless wars.
The first article reads "Army Base on the Brink" at the Daily Beast site, but the link mentions suicides, murders and waterboarding of children. The links from local stories (KOMO news) are shown before and are horrifying to read. I got the original article from a man who has done mental health work with vets for years and since retiring, has advocated for the homeless many who are vets. One might say, "Oh, don't write about something so unpleasant," and agreed, it is - but writing or talking about it is not the crime. Going to war recklessly is the crime. Oh and by the way, my father had PTSD (WW2) and required electroshock treatments for depression/paranoia.

Plenty of people with PTSD don't harm anyone. Sounds more like male privilege at work, as is usually the case with abusive husbands/fathers and family murderers.

It's a bad combination to subject people to harsh situations and stress in an already sexist and stressed society.
I tend to agree with you.
