Tim Pawlenty Screws His State For Sake of His 2012 Campaign (better title by Wonkette)
Tim Pawlenty now denying his state money in order to run for President - War Room - Salon.com (conventional title at Slate)
Pawlenty forgoes $850,000 in federal sex ed funds for strings-attached abstinence dollars « Minnesota Independent: News. Politics. Media. -- He refused the federal money then accepted other dollars for "abstinence only" training. That is more "PC" when trying to attract social conservative votes.
Pawlenty says no - Ben Smith - POLITICO.com - Here you can read his Executive Order. He wants to be Governor again, or even President of the US.
For those that don't know, the Time cover in this post is a take off on governor Wendell Anerson's cover on that magazine in 1971. Wendell Anderson is known for helping create the the "Minnesota Miracle of 1971," an innovative reform in financing of Minnesota public schools and local governments that created a fairer distribution in taxation and education. Minnesota's public schools have been some of the best in the nation. Under Pawlenty, class sizes increased and poorer districts suffered as more the burden of funding schools was shifted to property taxes.
Do people know that Pawlenty never received a majority (over 50%) of the state's votes in his elections?
