Cross-Spectrum "Birther" Update

 Orly Taitz is back - she wants to sue Daily Kos.  Remember Orly?  The dental technician "lawyer" with the Tammy Faye eyelashes who is always going on about Obama's birth certificate?  She has lost her lawsuits so she files more vindictive ones and this is the latest.  Among other things, she believes that Obama should reimburse her for emotional distress caused by her own actions.

Then I read this morning that a Democrat (NJ-Menendez) wants to make "birthers" a campaign issue, possibly to create a wedge between Republicans.  He recommends hitting potential candidates up with these potentially wedge-inducing questions:

"Ask them, 'Do you believe Barack Obama is a citizen of the United States?'" he said. "Ask them: Do you believe the Tenth Amendment doesn`t allow for health care for every citizen in the country? Do you believe that Medicare and Social Security and Medicaid is socialism?"

Did You Hear About the Lizard Underwear Guy?

 It's all about underwear.  I read that Max Blumenthal is in Salt Lake City in search of Mormon underwear. Then at Christmas we had the "Underwear bomber" - and now we have this lizard-in-pants guy - submitted by a male co-author.  (Not snakes on a plane - lizards)

He writes: Did you read the story about the lizard underwear guy? He had 44 lizards inhis briefs that he tried to smuggle on the plane. That beats the underwear bomber for absurdity.  I wonder what that feels like?  I don't want to know..

(I have used the "Lizard King" for an illustration, as somehow I also associated him with "crotch")

Kubus (the Lizard King) was caught by wildlife officials at Christchurch International Airport on South Island in December, about to board an overseas flight with 44 geckos and skinks in a hand-sewn package concealed in his underwear.

Lusty Latte Featured Next Door to Lusty Lady Live Show

 We discussed the Lusty Lady - a peep show in downtown Seattle that is known for provocation, particularly since they are across from the Seattle Art Museum and frequently have satirized the marquees there.   They also made their little comment on the store going out of business down the street (see links below.)

Now Ron Holden at Seattle food blog Corichon reports that the coffee shop next door to the Lusty Lady serves a Lusty Latte.  

He writes, "The Lusty Latté, developed by Fonté's morning latte diva, Melissa Harris, features a seductive and spicy combination of black cherry, clove and pistachio. Prices start at $2.85 for a 12-ounce latté."

No Dancing at the Jefferson Memorial

It was a silent party .. they wore headphones.  Yet 18 people were arrested for dancing to music on their headphones after midnight on the eve of Jefferson's birthday.  This happened a couple of years ago and their court case has finally been decided.  The Memorial is not supposed to be a "public forum" - so you can't dance there.  A bad precedent, I think.

Bachmann Cancels Tea Party Appearance

 It's crumbling!  Miss Michelle was supposed to speak at a breakfast at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville.  Apparently $549/head is a bit high for the "small town values" people. Other elected officials are cancelling - it's becoming a political hot potato.  There are concerns about how the profits are to be used.   Palin was supposed to get 100 grand to speak but she's no longer an elected official.  

Bachmann's office made it clear that she does still support the Tea Party people.

Man Drops Into the "Lusty Lady" - Literally

 Seattle police arrested a man around 2 a.m. Saturday for investigation of malicious mischief after he climbed into the space above the ceiling at the Lusty Lady in an apparent attempt to get into the women's dressing room.

 DailyKos - Howard Zinn  (Our friend Karen Bradley - see article on Obama SOTU body language from two days ago - actually had Dr. Zinn for a Professor!  My son was assigned Zinn's text at Evergreen.)
