I don't believe this map. California youth are very right-wing, because they are brainwashed in their churches and parochial schools (and gated communities and SUVs) rather than being allowed to mix with weirdos, homos, and other subversives in a diverse neighborhood.
Immigrant communities get even more right-wing with each successive generation, especially.
California would definitely be the reddest of the red here, at least almost as red as Alaska.
