Last week I found out that high fructose corn syrup, in itself dangerous, frequently contains mercury. Even peanut butter and peanut butter products may cause salmonella, in many cases, due to Bush deregulation. I just read an article that says that FEMA food kits contain tainted peanut butter.
Then I got a letter from Costco telling me to return my Sinbad's Baklava, because it may contain tainted peanut butter. The problem is that I already ate it, even though I don't really care for peanut butter.
The surprising thing is just how prevalent the peanut
products are with recalls of things you would never
think of including a lot of stuff you would buy at health food
stores and even dog treats
As if there aren't enough problematic issues plaguing the country
now it seems like we should be writing to senators, congress,
and even Obama about restoring the food and drug inspection services
that have languished due to lack of funding under Bush
