That's the classic Indian tale that people sit and watch for 3-4 hours a night for up to 10 nights because it's really long. This version is animated (and thanks to Chris, who read about it in critic Roger Ebert's blog. He does a good job of talking about the Ramayana story and the film maker, since he's a film critic, so I suggest checking out the link to his blog and there is also his NY Times review.
Here is a video sample of the animated Ramayana, where adults are telling what they remember of the story. The second video is the only known moving picture of the jazz singer whose vocals are used in the project. She has "a complexion like peaches and a voice like smooth honey." Enjoy! This is the film's website.
