Obama also had three Rolling Stone covers in seven months, a record matched only by John Lennon. Both of them were more popular than Christ. McCain has been hand-picking people for rallies, another resemblance to Bush. Even those who have already voted for him may be kicked out if they have the wrong "look." McCain had to bus students in and still had 1/4 of Obama's crowd in Florida. 59% of pollees don't think Palin is qualified. A McCain staffer agrees - and tells the press. McCain had to cut his ground staff and will rely on television and going on to Saturday Night Live. Reading news this morning, turnout in southern states looks great, and it's alarming local party heads. Even Louisiana is getting closer. Arizona.
THE THREAT: HERE IN TEMPLE TERRACE, FL OUR REPUBLICAN HQ IS ONE BLOCK AWAY FROM OUR LIBRARY, WHICH IS AN EARLY VOTING SITE. I SEE CARLOADS OF BLACK OBAMA SUPPORTERS COMING FROM THE INNER CITY TO CAST THEIR VOTES FOR OBAMA. THIS IS THEIR CHANCE TO GET A BLACK PRESIDENT AND THEY SEEM TO CARE LITTLE THAT HE IS AT MINIMUM, SOCIALIST, AND PROBABLY MARXIST IN HIS CORE BELIEFS. AFTER ALL, HE IS BLACK--NO EXPERIENCE OR ACCOMPLISHMENTS--BUT HE IS BLACK. I ALSO SEE YOUNG COLLEGE STUDENTS AND THEIR PROFESSORS FROM USF PARKING THEIR CARS WITH THE PROMINENT 'OBAMA' BUMPER STICKERS. THE STUDENTS ARE ENTHUSIASTIC TO BE VOTING IN A HISTORIC ELECTION WHERE THERE MAY BE THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT. DailyKos
Meanwhile, judging by my local email, visibility events are being planned city wide in Seattle - mothers, kids, Trick the Voters, my friend Josh's downtown show with musicians and artists and creative people, overpass banner hangers and much more. Parties are planned all over for Election night and we are taking that night off and the day after. Even this weekend, I am going zombie hunting and Kayakbiker will be covering Critical Mass. We plan to return to more cultural events after this election is finally but hope that we have done out part to help start to turn things around!
