Google in the US "turned the lights out" on the Google.com homepage to raise awareness of a worldwide energy conservation effort called Earth Hour. On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Earth Hour invites people around the world to turn off their lights for one hour â from 8:00pm to 9:00pm in their local time zone. Cities around the world, including Copenhagen, Chicago, Melbourne, Dubai, and Tel Aviv, will hold events to acknowledge their commitment to energy conservation.
8:40 PM by Candlelight .. Man, Seattle is dark!! I stood upstairs and looked out the window and the lights all around Green Lake were almost completely doused!
It would be interesting to hear how much less energy
was consumed in that single hour
