from Germany:
4000 American kids dead over this nonsense, people.
They volunteered.
No seriously, this is pretty outrageous. And it seems their death hasn't made the least bit of positive difference.
Rather, much to the contrary. Which is the real shame: that their sacrifice was for nothing.
This is not mentioning the tens of thousands who came home crippled, or the many many more that will
have mental health issues from the shit they had to see for the rest of their lives.
And.. this in a country with no public benefit or health care system to speak of, might mean that they won't
even be able to get the crazy meds and welfare checks they need when they can't adjust to reality anymore.
Hell, when I lived in the States in 1997 I saw a dude roaming the streets of Baltimore with a fucking shopping
kart.. he's been there since VIETNAM!
And maybe millions of Iraqis, a group of people who I've found, in my
limited experience, to be plucky, realistic, wry, cool, and funny as hell.
Trust me, the ones who had their friends and relatives killed, their livelihoods shattered, or were some
other way um "adversely affected" by the American presence in their country will be anything but funny.
America set out to wipe out the evil-doers and created millions of new enemies in the process, not to
mention bankrupted their fucking country. Bin Laden himself couldn't have planned this better.
Obama's got vision though. He might just be the man to pull the horse cart out of the shit, but it will take
years. I hope he succeeds. I want my old America back!
You know, I always used to dig you people over there. Lets hope this will just be a bad memory a few
years down the line.
And the pikes idea: yeah, I dig it. Bring the Nuremberg trials.
