My Neighbor Gregg Blackstock's Drawings Incorporated into Commes des Garcons Fashion

DSC02493

I saw my talented autistic savant artist/musician neighbor wearing a designer shirt with one of his illustrations of various knots incorporated into the pattern. He said it was a free sample from Commes des Garcons but that they cost $200 for everybody else. I looked at the Facebook page for Garde Rail Gallery where he exhibits, and saw these designs.

Greg took off before I could photograph him, but he does come by sometimes with shirts upon which he has things custom-made by the computer-embroidery machine at the mall.

Today, he was interested in exactly what the phrase "fed up" met and after we talked about it, he said he had been "fed up" with his pot washing job.  He said he would have much rather been making money playing his accordian on the street and drawing than washing pots all those years.

Another Cool Bush Depression Idea: Burlesque Show/Food Drive

I loved the Beer Dinner I went to which helped raise money for an injured friend to have rotator cuff surgery. Now I see this great way to increase food donations!

Six Degrees of Separation: T.U.G.S. Belltown Has a Facebook Group

I had made a reference to it on this blog (Nina Hagen partying there after an appearance at the Showbox, back in the '80s) .. a Facebook group has started and this drawing is by the guy who started it and people are joining up .. Clark Humphrey, Ruby Montana .. maybe we can get Nina Hagen herself! (She did play at Dennis Kucinich's New Years party last year)

Here are some photos of mine of things in the general area which have not been destroyed or gentrified. I know the Turf is further up the street but I like the sign.
