Voters responded positively to an incredible grassroots effort and a simple appeal to fairness. The Secretary of State and all the geeked-out models set up by the smart people we know say that last night's 51%-49% margin will continue to grow.
	Common Sense vs. Eymanism
Tim Eyman hit the ropes hard with a 55%-45% (and growing) smackdown for I-1033 -- his second consecutive landslide defeat. People looked at a future minus more than $8 billion in funding for education, healthcare and public services and just said No. I-1033 lost throughout Washington (58% No in Adams County). No word on how Eyman sugar daddy Mike Dunmire feels about the return on his investment in recent years. He typically bankrolls Eyman to the tune of $250k-$500k per initiative, weighing in at $300k on this one.
	Progressive Leadership vs Conservative Subterfuge
King County voters chose a tested progressive champion --  Dow Constantine -- for King County Executive. They saw through conservative TV personality Susan Hutchison's lightweight resume and systematic efforts to hide her right wing values and party affiliation and recognized that running the 14th largest county in the nation requires substantive experience. Hutchison's early lead evaporated into a 14-point triumph for Dow.

A Democrat won a special congressional election in a heavily Republican district in northern New York by exploiting a battle between moderates and conservatives for control of the GOP.

Majority of Southerners Say Obama Has Done Better Job Than Bush

CNN Poll: Majority Of Southerners Says Obama Has Done Better Job Than Bush | The Plum Line

Fifty-seven percent say Obama has been a better president than George W. Bush; only a third say Bush’s track record was better.

“Compared to Obama, Bush does fairly well among southerners and rural voters. But even in those categories, a majority still says Obama has done a better job than Bush,” says Holland.

Obama’s numbers have generally been far worse among southerners: A recent Research 2000 poll for Daily Kos found that Obama’s favorability rating in the south is a meager 28%. Another recent survey found that a majority of southerners either don’t believe Obama was born in the United States or are not sure.

According to CNN, though, a majority of southerners still prefers Obama’s performance to that of Bush — yet another measure of how abysmally unpopular the former president remains.

 Here is the percent vote for Obama if "White men" are removed entirely. Raises interesting questions, as there was a time in this country not so long ago when minorities and women did not vote, ONLY white men.

Friends of FOX News Chief Ailes Want Him to Run for President in 2012

POLITICO CLICK: Friends push Ailes for president - Mike Allen

Politico reported that friends of Fox chief Ailes were encouraging him to run for president in 2012 but he said he would decline.  It would be better if he did, as he has been a consultant to Nixon and Reagan, and with Lee Atwater, helped Bush I defeat Dukakis.  Ailes was part of the plot to portray Dukakis as "soft on crime" by connecting him with felon Willie Horton.  FOX has been contemptuous of the Obama administration all year, rather than providing news.  They have encouraged tea parties and town hall meeting disruptions as well as Glenn Beck's 9-12 project to march on Washington DC.  FOX is best known for deception and propagation of Republican talking points.  They have been on a witch hunt against Obama "czars" and are connected with projects which raise money for Republican candidates and projects.
