I am a Democrat and an Obama supporter I am also a former resident of New York. But now that I live in the south (and have pride that I live there) I find it very discouraging that people constantly belittle the area in which I live.I have to say I resent this little quip. There are very progressive people in the South as well as the mid west. In fact North Carolina was the first state in the U.S. to offer public college education to it's white and black residents. North Carolina paved the way for women in the medical field. Anna M. Gove was the first practicing nurse practitioner in U.S. history and N.C. was the only state that would allow her to attend medical school (not any of the states in blue). This is part of our liberal/democratic problem. When things like this are said it excludes people from participation by way of insult. One must research the societal dynamics of these areas to gain a true understanding of its various complexities. One should not rely on a thirty second snippet from fox news to make an impression on millions of people. By the way: the first time I was ever called the N-word or saw a confederate flag I was living in Long Island New York and going to school there.

Yes but you have to get enough like-minded people to vote BLUE like we did.
Oregon and Washington used to be Republican for a long time!!!!
Minnesota, on the other hand, has voted BLUE at least for presidents, for a long time.
It nearly killed me when Reagan somehow won in WA - TWICE!!
NC is supposed to be turning purple, I know, and the sooner the better!
Same for Texas! Colorado did it!!

I'm a democrat but in this past election I voted McCain because Obama just speaks well, he was just getting peoples votes he doesnt know how to be president.. McCain was a 5 star general hes much more experienced and he said hes going to WIPE OUT the terrorists for good while obama was going to withdraw (which hasnt happened yet along with alot of other things he promised) Obama isnt running the whitehouse like McCain would've hes just letting everyone else do the work while he sits back and makes half-assed decisions. Only reason he didnt get elected was cause he spoke like a normal person instead of using hitler's propaganda tactics.

Why do all McCain voters who comment on the internet come across as uneducated dolts?
Posted by: kayakbiker | July 21, 2009 at 11:36 PM
Because they are uneducated idiots.
