Seattle Fish Throwers for Obama

Thanks to local hero Ari Melber, who now writes for WA Independent, The Nation, Huffington Post and takes on badasses on tv.  See story at WA Independent (thanks Ari for emailing it to me) and here is the video: Pike Market is actually one place I had VERY GOOD SUCCESS registering voters. I registered 14 in about 90 minutes - all employees, some of whom work 7 days/week and had trouble getting away to register and/or vote.

I lived in Chez Sleaze on frat row just north of campus when I enrolled at the University of Washington. Chez Sleaze was a boarding house with 14 rooms. One housemate sold fish at the Market. I would get a large pot of onions, garlic, and potatoes cooking early in the afternoon. I would add milk and by the time the potatoes were falling apart, he would come home with some fresh halibut. My fish stew was a popular dinner item at Chez Sleaze. It would last until the guy who worked at Pagliacci came home with that restaurant's left-over pizza about 1 am. What we didn't finish at night was served up for breakfast. I ate well for a poor person.
